This is a VERY nice establishment. the prices are phenomenal and the books are in either New or gently used conditions. there is a wide selection in all genres including many famous and highly acclaimed authors. It is clean and tidy. The gentleman behind the counter is exceptionally kind. Offering my overheated toddler a cold water and applejuice. This is definitely a kid friendly space BUT as with any business you want to keep them with you to respect the space and people in it. It’s a wonderful place! Stop by here before going to Books a Million! you may find the same $27 book for $4 !

As an avid reader, I love Always Buying Books for finding a great read. As a local author, I enjoy book signing events in the store and having my paperbacks on the local author shelf. The staff is friendly and incredibly helpful. I’ve asked about books that a librarian would have trouble finding and they know where it is and take you straight to it. Amazing service!
Never seen a better selection of classics in one place.
New books are rotated into the stock regularly. Recent reorganization of the store looks great. If you like piles of books, searching for treasures, and people named Bob – this is the shop for you. Every time I am in Joplin I pick up a stack of delightfully used paperbacks.
